Overthrow of Pharaoh

 Triple Cross Motorcycle Ministry Weekly Sermon

Praise: Moses & the men sing and the Theme.

Exodus 15:1-3… Then sang Mo’ses {drawn out} and the children of Is’ra-el {he will rule as god} this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for He hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath He thrown into the sea. 2The LORD is my strength and song, and He is become my salvation: He is my God, and I will prepare Him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt Him. 3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is His name.

Overthrow of  Pharaoh: Egypt’s army gets destroyed by the sea of Reeds.

Exodus 15:4-12… Pha’raoh's chariots and his host hath He cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea {Hebrew= sea of Reeds}. 5 The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone. 6 Thy right hand, O LORD, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O LORD, hath dashed in pieces the enemy. 7 And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble. 8 And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as a heap, and the depths were congealed {become hard or thick} in the heart of the sea. 9 The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them. 10 Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters. 11 Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods?  Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? 12 Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them. {7Revelation 17:12-14, overthrown, Rev. 12:15-16 swallowed the waters}

Israel’s Guidance:

Exodus 15:13… Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation. {Eph. 2:19-22, habitation of God through the Spirit}

Overthrow of Egyptians:

Exodus 15:14-16… The people shall hear, and be afraid: sorrow shall take hold on the inhabitants of Pal-es-ti’na {Rolling as migratory}. 15 Then the dukes of E’dom {Red or ruddy} shall be amazed; the mighty men of Mo’ab {from her grandfather}, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Ca’naan {humiliated} shall melt away. 16 Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be as still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over, which thou hast purchased. {15Gen. 19:36-37, firstborn son called Moab, Rev.18:4-8}

Israel’s Settlement and Praise:

Exodus 15:17-19… Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, in the place, O LORD, which thou hast made for thee to dwell in, in the Sanctuary, O Lord, which thy hands have established. 18 The LORD shall reign forever and ever. 19 For the horse of Pha’raoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Is’ra-el {he will rule as god} went on dry land in the midst of the sea.

Singers: Miriam & women.

Exodus 15:20-21… And Mir’i-am {Rebelliously} the prophetess, the sister of Aaron {Lofty=superior}, took a timbrel {drum} in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels {drums} and with dances. 21 And Mir’i-am answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for He hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath He thrown into the sea.

Journeying to Sinai: (15-19:2)  from Egypt to wilderness of Shur

Exodus 15:22-27… So Mo’ses {drawn out} brought Is’ra-el {he will rule as god} from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur {A wall}; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water. 23 And when they came to 1Ma’rah {Bitter}, they could not drink of the waters of 2Ma’rah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called 3Ma’rah. 24 And the people murmured against Mo’ses, saying, What shall we drink? 25 And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD showed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there He made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there He proved them, 26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the E-gyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee. 27 And they came to E’lim {Palm trees}, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees {70}: and they encamped there by the waters. {25Zec.13:9 tried as gold, 3 = Divine completeness & perfection, 12 = governmental perfection, 70 = restoration of Israel}

Events in the Wilderness of Shur: Murmuring of people

Exodus 16:1-3… And they took their journey from E’lim, and all the congregation of the children of Is’ra-el {he will rule as god} came unto the wilderness of Sin {a bush}, which is between E’lim {Palm trees} and Si’nai {Bush of Jehovah}, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of E’gypt {oppresses}. 2 And the whole congregation of the children of Is’ra-el murmured against Mo’ses {drawn out} and Aar’on {Lofty=superior} in the wilderness: 3 And the children of Is’ra-el said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of E’gypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

Promise of GOD made:

Exodus 16:4-5… Then said the LORD unto Mo’ses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no. 5 And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.

Promise repeated by Moses:

Exodus 16:6-8… And Mo’ses {drawn out} and Aar’on {Lofty=superior} said unto all the children of Is’ra-el {he will rule as god}, At even, then ye shall know that the LORD hath brought you out from the land of E’gypt {oppresses}: 7 And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the LORD; for that He heareth your murmurings against the LORD: and what are we, that ye murmur against us? 8 And Mo’ses said, This shall be, when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against Him: and what are we?  Your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.  {John 21:15-17, feed my sheep, & Acts 20:28-29}

Promise Fulfilled through Moses:

Exodus 16:9-10… And Mo’ses spake unto Aar’on, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Is’ra-el, Come near before the LORD: for He hath heard your murmurings. 10 And it came to pass, as Aar’on spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Is’ra-el, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud.

Promise of GOD:

Exodus 16:11-12… And the LORD spake unto Mo’ses, saying, 12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Is’ra-el: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God.

Given the Food:

Exodus 16:13-15… And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host. 14 And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small {thin} round thing {flakey}, as small as the hoar frost {frost or dew that forms a white coating} on the ground. 15 And when the children of Is’ra-el saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist {know} not what it was.  And Mo’ses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.

Gathering Manna: {Manna is a foreshadowed of Christ, the true Bread from Heaven}

Exodus 16:16-31… This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer {2.3 quarts} for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents. 17 And the children of Is’ra-el did so, and gathered, some more, some less. 18 And when they did mete {measure} it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating. 19 And Mo’ses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning. 20 Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Mo’ses; {drawn out} but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Mo’ses was wroth with them. 21 And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted. 22 And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Mo’ses.23 And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, Tomorrow is the rest of the Holy Sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake today, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning. 24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Mo’ses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein. 25 And Mo’ses said, Eat that today; for today is a Sabbath unto the LORD: today ye shall not find it in the field. 26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the Sabbath, in it there shall be none. 27 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none. 28 And the LORD said unto Mo’ses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? 29 See, for that the LORD hath given you the Sabbath, therefore He giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. 30 So the people rested on the seventh day.

Commandment given on Manna:

Exodus 16:31-36… And the house of Is’ra-el called the name thereof Manna: and it was like co-ri-an-der {related to carrot} seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey. 32 And Mo’ses said, This is the thing which the LORD commandeth, Fill an omer {2.3 quarts} of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of E’gypt {oppresses}. 33 And Mo’ses {drawn out} said unto Aar’on {Lofty=superior}, Take a pot, and put an omer {2/3 quarts} full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations. 34 As the LORD commanded Mo’ses {drawn out}, so Aar’on {Lofty=superior}  laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept. 35 And the children of Is’ra-el {he will rule as god} did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Ca’naan {humiliated}. 36 Now an omer {2/3 quarts} is the tenth part of an ephah {5.9 gallons}. {40 = trial, testing & probation}

Closing Reading: Psalm 30:1-12,

 Triple Cross Motorcycle Ministry

Weekly Sermon

Journey of Israel & striving of People towards Moses: Manna to Bread & water to Living Water.

*Exodus 17:1-3… And all the congregation of the children of Is’ra-el journeyed from the wilderness of Sin {a Bush}, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Reph’i-dim {upright support}: and there was no water for the people to drink. 2 Wherefore the people did chide {strive} with Mo’ses, and said, Give us water that we may drink.  And Mo’ses said unto them, Why chide {strive} ye with me?  Wherefore do ye tempt the LORD? 3 And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Mo’ses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of E’gypt {oppresses}, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?     { 3Exodus 16:2-3, kill with hunger}

Moses and the LORD:

Exodus 17:4… And Mo’ses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people?  They be almost ready to stone me.

Giving of the water by the LORD:

*Exodus 17:5-6… And the LORD said unto Mo’ses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Is’ra-el; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go. 6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Ho’reb {Desolate}; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink.  And Mo’ses did so in the sight of the elders of Is’ra-el.      {Matt.16:18, upon this Rock}

Memorial of Massah and Meribah:

*Exodus 17:7… And he called the name of the place Mas’sah, and Mer’i-bah, because of the chiding {strive} of the children of Is’ra-el, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?   {Massah, Temptation of God} {Meribah , Strife with Moses}

So, What’s New? ( Rev. 1:7-8, Alpha & Omega)

Ecclesiastes 1:9-10… The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no New thing under the sun. 10 Is there anything whereof it may be said, See, this is new?  It hath been already of old time, which was before us.

The Mosaic dispensation: All have been Baptized in water & eat same food & drink.

1Corinthians 10:1-6… Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Mo’ses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat {food}; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that Spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

Sharing that Spiritual water that is Christ: Nurturing side & Masculine side of Jesus.

Matthew 25:33-36… And He {Christ} shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat {food}: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. {There are two groups of People that think they’re serving God, but only one really is serving God.}

Who do we give Drink to?

*Romans 12:20-21… Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. {We are not to Judge anyone. GOD does all the judging.  Matt.7:1-2, Judging others}

The Real Bread of Life- Christ: Bread from Heaven.

*John 6:32-37… Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is He which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. 34 Then said they unto Him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. 35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. 36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. 37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. {Believeth= to take as true, real} {Come = Approach, arrive, to reach the point of being or becoming. FAITH- Allegiance to duty, person, Loyalty, More on what FAITH REALY is – Heb.11:20-34} (ADD to, Deut.4:2 & 12:32, Prov.30:5-6, Jer.23:28 & 26:2, Eze.2:5-7, Rev.22:18-19)

Last Supper:

*Luke 22:15-20… And He {Jesus] said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer: 16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. 17 And He took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: 18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. 19 And He took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. 20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the New Testament in my blood, which is shed for you. {First PassoverExodus 12:10-14, First born was killed. & Last, 1Cor.5:7-8}

Jesus did all the work – in laying out the course that we should follow, in what He said and in what Jesus did. Jesus tough with authority and helped others with compassion and we are to do both, the same as He did.

Coming of Amalek & fighting with Israel: (fighting is over water)

*Exodus 17:8-9… Then came Am’a-lek {dweller in a valley}, and fought with Is’ra-el in Reph’i-dim { upright support or rail}. 9 And Moses {drawn out} said unto Josh’u-a {Jehovah saved}, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Am’a-lek: tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.

Giving  of victory by GOD:

*Exodus 17:10-13… So Josh’u-a did as Mo’ses had said to him, and fought with Am’a-lek: and Mo’ses, Aar’on {Lofty=superior}, and Hur {white} went up to the top of the hill. 11 And it came to pass, when Mo’ses held up his hand, that Is’ra-el prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Am’a-lek prevailed. 12 But Mo’ses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aar’on and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. 13 And Josh’u-a discomfited {scatter in fight} Am’a-lek and his people with the edge of the sword.

Memorial of Victory:

*Exodus 17:14-16… And the LORD said unto Mo’ses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Josh’u-a: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Am’a-lek from under heaven. 15 And Mo’ses built an altar, and called the name of it Je-ho’vah-nis’si: 16 For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Am’a-lek {dweller in a valley} from generation to generation. {Jehovah-nissi = Jehovah is my banner}

Coming of Jethro & his message to Moses:

*Exodus 18:1-5… When Je’thro {His excellence}, the priest of Mid’i-an {A contest or a quarrel}, Mo’ses' father in law, heard of all that God had done for Mo’ses, and for Is’ra-el His people, and that the LORD had brought Is’ra-el out of E’gypt; 2 Then Je’thro, Mo’ses' father in law, took Zip-po’rah {Bird}, Mo’ses' wife, after he had sent her back, 3 And her two sons; of which the name of the one was Ger’shom {Refugee}; for he said, I have been an alien in a strange land: 4 And the name of the other was E-li-e’zer {God of help}; for the God of my father, said he, was mine help, and delivered me from the sword of Pha’raoh: 5 And Je’thro, Mo’ses' father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Mo’ses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mountain of God:

Moses & Jethro:

Exodus 18:6-12… And he said unto Mo’ses, I thy father in law Je’thro am come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her. 7 And Mo’ses went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the tent. 8 And Mo’ses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the E-gyptians for Is’ra-el's sake, and all the travail {agony, torment} that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them. 9 And Je’thro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Is’ra-el, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the E-gyptians. 10 And Je’thro said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the E-gyptians, and out of the hand of Pha’raoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the E-gyptians. 11 Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly He was above them. 12 And Je’thro, Mo’ses' father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God: and Aar’on came, and all the elders of Is’ra-el, to eat bread with Mo’ses' father in law before God.

Giving of Judgment by Moses: {Jethro asks why Moses is doing all the judging}

Exodus 18:13-16… And it came to pass on the morrow, that Mo’ses sat to judge the people: and the people stood by Mo’ses from the morning unto the evening. 14 And when Mo’ses' father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people?  Why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand by thee from morning unto even? 15 And Mo’ses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to enquire of God: 16 When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God, and His laws.

Memorial of Jethro’s Visit: {Jethro suggest that Moses let other do the lighter work}

Exodus 18:17-27… And Mo’ses' father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good. 18 Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that is with thee: for this thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone. 19 Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to Godward {toward GOD}, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God: 20 And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt show them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do. 21 Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens: 22 And let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for thyself, and they shall bear the burden with thee. 23 If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to endure, and all this people shall also go to their place in peace. 24 So Mo’ses hearkened to the voice of his father in law, and did all that he had said. 25 And Mo’ses chose able men out of all Is’ra-el, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. 26 And they judged the people at all seasons: the hard causes they brought unto Mo’ses, but every small matter they judged themselves. 27 And Mo’ses let his father in law depart; and he went his way into his own land. {Our present day court system}

The Golden Calf

 Triple Cross Motorcycle Ministry

Weekly Sermon

On Mount Sinai: Moses has been on Mount Sinai for 40 days with the LORD.

*Exodus 31:18… And He {LORD} gave unto Mo’ses, when He had made an end of communing with him upon Mount Si’nai {Bush of Jehovah}, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.  {Matthew 22:34-40, the two answers – one for each tablet, Lev,19:18 & Deut. 6:5}

Request of the People & Aaron’s Answer: make us gods

*Exodus 32:1-2… And when the people saw that Mo’ses {drawn out} delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aar’on {Lofty=superior}, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Mo’ses, the man that brought us up out of the land of E’gypt {oppresses}, we wot not {know not} what is become of him. 2 And Aar’on said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.

Idolatry Purposed: gathering of the gold

-Exodus 32:3-4… And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aar’on. 4 And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Is’ra-el, which brought thee up out of the land of E’gypt.    {Nehemiah 9:16-19, these be thy gods}

Idolatry Practiced: celebration to the False god

*Exodus 32:5-6… And when Aa’ron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aa’ron made an proclamation {official announcement}, and said, Tomorrow is a feast to the LORD {under-cover of religion} 6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play {dance lasciviously}. {1Corinthians 10:7-11, rose up to play}

GOD’s Wrath:

 Exodus 32:7-10… And the LORD said unto Mo’ses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of E’gypt, have corrupted themselves: 8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Is’ra-el, which have brought thee up out of the land of E-gypt. 9 And the LORD said unto Mo’ses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiff-necked people: 10 Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.    {Thy & Thou = as though disowning them}

Request of Moses: Moses pleads with the LORD on behalf of the Israel

*Exodus 32:11-13… And Mo’ses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of E’gypt with great power, and with a mighty hand? 12 Wherefore should the E-gyptians speak, and say, For mischief {wrong doing} did He bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth?  Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people. 13 Remember A’bra-ham {father of a multitude}, I’saac {Laughter}, and Is’ra-el {he will rule as god}, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it forever.{Israel not Jacob, language of highest faith}(Isa.43:25-26, Remembrance)

GOD’s Answer:

Exodus 32:14: And the LORD repented of the evil which He thought to do unto His people.

The Tables Carried:

Exodus 32:15-16… And Mo’ses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written. 16 And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.

Moses & Joshua:

*Exodus 32:17-18… And when Josh’u-a {Jehovah saved} heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said unto Mo’ses, There is a noise of war in the camp. 18 And he said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery {knowledge}, neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of them that sing do I hear.

Tables Broken:

Exodus 32:19-20… And it came to pass, as soon as he {Moses} came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Mo’ses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount. 20 And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Is’ra-el drink of it.{New Tables of Stone, Exo. 34:1-4, Moses makes the tablets and GOD redoes them}

Moses & Aaron:

Exodus 32:21-24… And Mo’ses said unto Aar’on, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them? 22 And Aar’on said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief. 23 For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Mo’ses, the man that brought us up out of the land of E’gypt, we wot not {know not} what is become of him. 24 And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off.  So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.

Exodus 32:25… And when Mo’ses saw that the people were naked; (for Aar’on had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:) (They were spiritual naked without GOD)Rev.3:17-18

Call of Moses:

*Exodus 32:26-27… Then Mo’ses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD's side?  Let him come unto me.  And all the sons of Le’vi {attached} gathered themselves together unto him. 27 And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Is’ra-el, Put every man his sword by his side {thigh}, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.

Levites’ Obedience:

Exodus 32:28-30… And the children of Le’vi did according to the word of Mo’ses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men. 29 For Mo’ses had said, Consecrate yourselves today to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that He may bestow upon you a blessing this day. 30 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Mo’ses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.

The Sin & Its Consequences:

Exodus 32:31-33… And Mo’ses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. 32 Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. 33 And the LORD said unto Mo’ses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Command to Depart:

Exodus 32:34… Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.

Sin & Its Consequences:

Exodus 32:35… And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aar’on made. {23,000 people died by the Plague}

Command to depart:

*Exodus 33:1… And the LORD said unto Mo’ses, Depart, and go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought up out of the land of E’gypt, unto the land which I sware unto A’bra-ham {father of a multitude}, to I’saac {Laughter}, and to Ja’cob {replacer}, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it:

Angel’s Guidance Promised:

*Exodus 33:2-3… And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Ca’naan-ite {humiliated}, the Am’or-ite {A taker}, and the Hit’tite {sons of Terror}, and the Per’iz-zite {rustic}, the Hi’vite {village}, and the Jeb’u-site {to trample}: 3 Unto a land flowing with milk and honey {all kinds of good things}: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiff-necked people: lest I consume thee in the way.

Stripping of Ornaments:

*Exodus 33:4-6… And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments {amulets, anklet, breast-piece, clothing, jewels, and necklaces}. 5 For the LORD had said unto Mo’ses, Say unto the children of Is’ra-el, Ye are a stiff-necked people: I will come up into the midst of thee in a moment, and consume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee. 6 And the children of Is’ra-el stripped themselves of their ornaments by the mount Ho’reb {Desolate}.

GOD’s Removal: The making of the Tabernacle didn’t start until chapter 35. Things are gathered & ch.36 is built.

*Exodus 33:7-11… And Mo’ses took the tabernacle {tent}, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle {tent} of the congregation.  And it came to pass, that every one which sought the LORD went out unto the tabernacle {tent} of the congregation, which was without the camp. 8 And it came to pass, when Mo’ses went out unto the tabernacle, that all the people rose up, and stood every man at his tent door, and looked after Mo’ses, until he was gone into the tabernacle. 9 And it came to pass, as Mo’ses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Mo’ses. 10 And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door. 11 And the LORD spake unto Mo’ses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend.  And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Josh’u-a {Jehovah saved}, the son of Nun {perpetuity}, a young man, departed not out of his tent.                Closing Reading: Psalm 36:1-12,

Murmurings of Mariam: Named first to show she was first in the rebellion.

Numbers 12:1-3… And Mir’i-am {rebelliously} and Aar’on {superior} spake against Mo’ses{drawn out} because of the E-thi-o’pi-an {or, Cush} woman whom he had married: for he had married an E-thi-o’pi-an woman. 2 And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Mo’ses?  Hath He not spoken also by us?  And the LORD heard it. 3 (Now the man Mo’ses was very meek {patient}, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.) {2 Exodus 19:9-11, God speaks to all the host}

Punishment Inflicted: 1490 B.C.

Numbers 12:4-10… And the LORD spake suddenly unto Mo’ses, and unto Aar’on, and unto Mir’i-am, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation.  And they three came out. 5 And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aar’on and Mir’i-am: and they both came forth. 6 And He {God} said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. 7 7X My servant Mo’ses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. 8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently {plainly}, and not in dark speeches {riddles}; and the similitude {likeness} of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Mo’ses? 9 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and He departed. 10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Mir’i-am became leprous, white as snow: and Aar’on looked upon Mir’i-am, and, behold, she was leprous.

Confession: You have to confess your sins. {Romans 10:9-12, confess with thy mouth}

Numbers 12:11-12… And Aar’on said unto Mo’ses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned. 12 Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.

Punishment Removed:

Numbers 12:13-16… And Mo’ses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee. 14 And the LORD said unto Mo’ses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days?  Let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again. 15 And Mir’i-am was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Mir’i-am was brought in again. 16 And afterward the people removed from Ha-ze’roth {yard}, and pitched in the wilderness of Pa’ran {ornamental}.

The Command of God: To send out spies and search the land.

Numbers 13:1-3… And the LORD spake unto Mo’ses, saying, 2 Send thou men, that they may search the land of Ca’naan {humiliated}, which I give unto the children of Is’ra-el {he will rule as god}: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, everyone a ruler among them. 3 And Mo’ses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Pa’ran: all those men were heads of the children of Is’ra-el.

Selection of Spies: All the Names of the Heads of the Tribes that went searching.

Numbers 13:4-16… And these were their names: of the tribe of Reu’ben {see ye a son}, Sham-mu’a {renowned} the son of Zac’cur {mindful}. 5 Of the tribe of Sim’e-on {hearing}, Sha’phat {judge} the son of Ho’ri {cave dweller}. 6 Of the tribe of Ju’dah {celebrated}, Ca’leb {forcible} the son of Je-phun’neh {he will be prepared}. 7 Of the tribe of Is’sa-char {he will bring a reward}, I’gal {Anger} the son of Jo’seph {let him add}. 8 Of the tribe of E’phra-im {double fruit}, O-she’a {deliverer} the son of Nun {perpetuity}. 9 Of the tribe of Ben’ja-min {son of the right hand}, Pal’it {delivered} the son of Ra’phu {cured}. 10 Of the tribe of Zeb’u-lun {habitation}, Gad’di-el {fortune of God} the son of So’di {confidant}. 11 Of the tribe of Jo’seph {let him add}, namely, of the tribe of Ma-nas’she {causing to forget}, Gad’di {fortunate} the son of Su’si {horse-like}. 12 Of the tribe of Dan {judge}, Am’mi-el {people of God} the son of Ge-mal’li {camel driver}. 13 Of the tribe of Ash’er {happy}, Se’thur {hidden} the son of Mi’chael {who is like God}. 14 Of the tribe of Naph’ta-li {my wrestling}, Nah’bi {occult} the son of Voph’si {additional}. 15 Of the tribe of Gad {attack}, Ge-u’el {majesty of God} the son of Ma’chi Pining}. 16 These are the names of the men which Mo’ses sent to spy out the land.  And Mo’ses called O-she’a {Deliverer} the son of Nun {perpetuity} Je-hosh’u-a {God saved}.

Directions to Spies: sometime in the fall

Numbers 13:17-20… And Mo’ses sent them to spy out the land of Ca’naan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain: 18 And see the land, what it is; and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many; 19 And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds; 20 And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not.  And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land.  Now the time was the time of the first-ripe grapes.

Searching of the Spies:

Numbers 13:21-25… So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin {A crag} unto Re’hob {wide}, as men come to Ha’math {walled}. 22 And they ascended by the south, and came unto He’bron {seat of association}; where A-hi’man {gift}, She’shai {lily}, and Tal’mai {ridged}, the children of A’nak {strangling}, were.  (Now He’bron was built seven years before Zo’an {stronghold} in E’gypt.) 23 And they came unto the brook of Esh’col {bunch of grapes}, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs. 24 The place was called the brook Esh’col, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Is’ra-el cut down from thence. 25 And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.

Evil Report:

Numbers 13:26 -29… And they went and came to Mo’ses, and to Aar’on, and to all the congregation of the children of Is’rael, unto the wilderness of Pa’ran, to Ka’desh {sanctuary}; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. 27 And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. 28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of A’nak there. 29 The Am’a-lek-ites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hit’tites, and the Jeb’u-sites, and the Am’or-ites, dwell in the mountains: and the Ca’naan-ites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jor’dan {A descender}.

Action of Evil report & Caleb:

Numbers 13:30-33… And Ca’leb stilled {silenced} the people before Mo’ses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. 31 But the men that went up with him {Caleb} said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. 32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Is’ra-el, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. 33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of A’nak {strangling}, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

The Congregation:

Numbers 14:1-5… And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. 2 And all the children of Is’ra-el murmured against Mo’ses and against Aar’on: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of E’gypt!  Or would God we had died in this wilderness! 3 And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey?  Were it not better for us to return into E’gypt? 4 And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into E’gypt. 5 Then Mo’ses and Aar’on fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Is’ra-el. {Proverbs 26:11, As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool}

Joshua and Caleb:

Numbers 14:6-9… And Josh’u-a {God saves} the son of Nun {perpetuity}, and Ca’leb {forcible} the son of Je-phun’neh {He will be prepared}, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes: 7 And they spake unto all the company of the children of Is’ra-el, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land. 8 If the LORD delight in us, then He will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. 9 Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

The Congregation & Reproach:

Numbers 14:10-12… But all the congregation talked about stoning them with stones.  And the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Is’ra-el. 11: And the LORD said unto Mo’ses, How long will this people provoke me?  And how long will it be ere {before} they believe me, for all the signs which I have showed among them? 12: I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.

Moses and GOD:

Numbers 14:13-25… And Mo’ses said unto the LORD, Then the E-gyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;) 14 And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night.15 Now if thou shalt kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying, 16: Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which He sware unto them, therefore He hath slain them in the wilderness. 17 And now, I beseech thee, let the power of my Lord be great, according as thou hast spoken, saying, 18 The LORD is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation. 19 Pardon, I beseech thee, the iniquity of this people according unto the greatness of thy mercy, and as thou hast forgiven this people, from E’gypt even until now. 20 And the LORD said, I have pardoned according to thy word: 21 But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD. 22 Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice; 23 Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it: 24 But my servant Ca’leb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it. 25 (Now the Am’a-lek-ites and the Ca’naan-ites dwelt in the valley.) Tomorrow turn you, and get you into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea. {21 Isaiah 43:25-26, Remembrance}(10 X Israel tempted God)

Reproach, ‘How long?’:

Numbers 14:26-28… And the LORD spake unto Mo’ses and unto Aar’on, saying, 27 How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me?  I have heard the murmurings of the children of Is’ra-el, which they murmur against me. 28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:

Sin of Korah & Company: Conspirators’ Sin (Korah is first cousin to Moses/Aaron)

Numbers 16:1-3… Now Ko’rah {to make bald}, the son of Iz’har {anointing}, the son of Ko’hath {allied}, the son of Le’vi {attached}, and Da’than {spring} and A-bi’ram {father of a multitude}, the sons of E-li’ab {God of his father}, and On {ability, power}, the son of Pe’leth {swiftness}, sons of Reu’ben {see ye a son}, took men:  2 And they rose up before Mo’ses {drawn out}, with certain of the children of Is’ra-el {he will rule as god}, two hundred and fifty princes {chiefs} of the assembly {congregation}, famous in the congregation, men of renown: 3 And they gathered themselves together against Mo’ses and against Aar’on {superior} , and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD? {Deut.18:1-2, Levites portion is with God}

Moses’s Prostration:

Numbers 16:4… And when Mo’ses heard it, he fell upon his face: {Romans 3:10-18, none righteous}

Address to Korah & Company:

Numbers 16:5 -11… And he {Moses} spake unto Ko’rah and unto all his company, saying, Even tomorrow the LORD will show who are His, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near unto Him: even him whom He hath chosen will He cause to come near unto Him. 6 This do; Take you censers, Ko’rah, and all his company; 7 And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the LORD tomorrow: and it shall be that the man whom the LORD doth choose, he shall be holy: ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Le’vi. 8 And Mo’ses said unto Ko’rah, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Le’vi: 9 Seemeth it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Is’ra-el hath separated you from the congregation of Is’ra-el, to bring you near to Himself to do the service of the tabernacle of the LORD, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them? 10 And He hath brought thee near to Him, and all thy brethren the sons of Le’vi with thee: and seek ye the priesthood also? 11 For which cause both thou and all thy company are gathered together against the LORD: and what is Aar’on, that ye murmur against him? {Heb.7:11-12, Priest}

Message to Conspirators’ & Reply:

Numbers 16:12-14… And Mo’ses sent to call Da’than and A-bi’ram, the sons of E-li’ab: which said, We will not come up: 13 Is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land that floweth with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except thou make thyself altogether a prince over us? 14 Moreover thou hast not brought us into a land that floweth with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men?  We will not come up. {Matthew 5:5, the Meek {Patient}  will inherit the earth}

Moses’ Prayer:

Numbers 16:15… And Mo’ses was very wroth, and said unto the LORD, Respect not thou their offering: I have not taken one ass {desired thing} from them, neither have I hurt one of them.

Address to Korah & Company: Those that gathered and sided with Korah

Numbers 16:16-19… And Mo’ses said unto Ko’rah, Be thou and all thy company before the LORD, thou, and they, and Aar’on, tomorrow: 17 And take every man his censer, and put incense in them, and bring ye before the LORD every man his censer, two hundred and fifty censers; thou also, and Aar’on, each of you his censer. 18 And they took every man his censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense thereon, and stood in the door of the tabernacle of the congregation with Mo’ses and Aar’on. 19 And Ko’rah gathered all the congregation against them unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the congregation. {1Peter 2:13-15, Submit to kings & governors}

Conspirators: LORD threat to consume

Numbers 16:20-22… And the LORD spake unto Mo’ses and unto Aar’on, saying, 21 Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. 22 And they {Moses & Aaron} fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?

Message to the People:

Numbers 16:23-27… And the LORD spake unto Mo’ses, saying, 24 Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle {congregation} of Ko’rah, Da’than, and A-bi’ram. 25 And Moses rose up and went unto Da’than and A-bi’ram; and the elders of Is’ra-el followed him. 26 And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins. 27 So they gat up from the tabernacle {congregation} of Ko’rah, Da’than, and A-bi’ram, on every side: and Da’than and A-bi’ram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children. {2Corinthians 6:17-18, come out from them}

Message to Conspirators:

Numbers 16:28-30… And Mo’ses said, Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind. 29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the LORD hath not sent me. 30 But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick {Live} into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD.

Threat carried Out:

Numbers 16:31-35… And it came to pass, as he {Moses} had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave {split} asunder that was under them: 32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Ko’rah, and all their goods. 33 They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation. 34 And all Is’ra-el that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also. 35 And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense. {Lev. 16:12-13, fire from the altar, not strange fire}

The Censers of the sinners:

Numbers 16:36-40… And the LORD spake unto Mo’ses, saying, 37 Speak unto E-le-a’zar {God is helper} the son of Aar’on the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are hallowed. 38 The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Is’ra-el. 39 And E-le-a’zar the priest took the brasen censers, wherewith they that were burnt had offered; and they were made broad plates for a covering of the altar: 40 To be a memorial unto the children of Is’ra-el, that no stranger, which is not of the seed of Aar’on, come near to offer incense before the LORD; that he be not as Ko’rah, and as his company: as the LORD said to him by the hand of Mo’ses. {Matt.27:50-53, the veil was rent in twain. NOW there is no need for Aaron}

Murmuring against Moses & Aaron:

Numbers 16:41-43… But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Is’ra-el murmured against Mo’ses and against Aar’on, saying, Ye have killed the people of the LORD. 42 And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Mo’ses and against Aar’on, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared. 43 And Mo’ses and Aar’on came before the tabernacle of the congregation.

LORD’s answer & Moses’s Reaction:

Numbers 16:44-50… And the LORD spake unto Mo’ses, saying, 45 Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment.  And they fell upon their faces. 46 And Mo’ses said unto Aar’on, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague is begun. 47 And Aar’on took as Mo’ses commanded, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people. 48 And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed. 49 Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died about the matter of Ko’rah. 50 And Aar’on returned unto Mo’ses unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the plague was stayed. {Deut. 7:12-16, do my commandments & none of these plaques will come near you}

Commandment of the LORD:

Numbers 17:1-4… And the LORD spake unto Mo’ses, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Is’ra-el, and take of every one of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, of all their princes {chief} according to the house of their fathers twelve rods: write thou every man's name upon his rod. 3 And thou shalt write Aar’on's name upon the rod of Le’vi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers. 4 And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony {ark}, where I will meet with you.

Intention announced: The LORD continues to speak

Numbers 17:5… And it shall come to pass, that the man's rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Is’ra-el, whereby they murmur against you.

Numbers 17:6-7… And Mo’ses spake unto the children of Is’ra-el, and every one of their princes {chief} gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers' houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aar’on was among their rods. 7 And Mo’ses laid up the rods before the LORD in the tabernacle {ark} of witness {tent}.

Numbers 17:8-13… And it came to pass, that on the morrow Mo’ses went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aar’on for the house of Le’vi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds. 9 And Mo’ses brought out all the rods from before the LORD unto all the children of Is’ra-el: and they looked, and took every man his rod. 10 And the LORD said unto Mo’ses, Bring Aar’on's rod again before the testimony {ark}, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not. 11 And Mo’ses did so: as the LORD commanded him, so did he. 12 And the children of Is’ra-el spake unto Mo’ses, saying, Behold, we die, we perish, we all perish. 13 Whosoever cometh anything near unto the tabernacle of the LORD shall die: shall we be consumed with dying?

Mission of the Angel:

Luke 1:26-28… And in the sixth month the angel Ga’bri-el {strong man of God} was sent from God unto a city of Gal’i-lee {A circle}, named Naz’a-reth {shoot/sprout}, 27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Jo’seph {Let him add}, of the house of Da’vid {loving}; and the virgin's name was Ma’ry {bitter}. 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. {6= weakness of man, manifestation of sin}

Mary’s Troubled:

Luke 1:29… And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast {began to reason} in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. (Salutation= greeting by word or gesture)

Angel’s Promise: {Luke 1:33 = Daniel 7:13-14 & *1Corinthians 15:24-28}

Luke 1:30-33… And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Ma’ry: for thou hast found favor {grace} with God. 31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call His name JESUS {Jehovah saved}. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His father Da’vid: 33 And He shall reign over the house of Jacob {replacer} for ever; and of His kingdom there shall be no end.

Mary’s Inquiry:

Luke 1:34… Then said Ma’ry unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

Angle’s Answer:

Luke 1:35-37… And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that Holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36 And, behold, thy cousin E-lis’a-beth {God of the oath}, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing shall be impossible. {Isa. 9:6-7 the Throne of David}

Mary’s Content:

Luke 1:38… And Ma’ry said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Mary’s Journey: (Zacharias made dumb in Luke 1:13-20)

Luke 1:39-40… And Ma’ry arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Ju’da [celebrated}; 40 And entered into the house of Zach-a-ri’as {God has remembered}, and saluted E-lis’a-beth.

Luke 1:41… And it came to pass, that, when E-lis’a-beth heard the salutation of Ma’ry, the babe leaped in her womb; and E-lis’a-beth was filled with the Holy Spirit:

Benediction: Blessings

Luke 1:42-43… And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. 43 And whence {what cause} is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

Rejoicing of Babe: Rejoice, Glory of Babe

Luke 1:44… For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

Beatitude: Blessed (be, are, is)

Luke 1:45… And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance {fulfillment} of those things which were told her from the Lord.

Mary Rejoicing:

Luke 1:46-56… And Ma’ry said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior. 48 For He hath regarded the low estate of His handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. 49 For He that is mighty hath done to me great things; and Holy is His name. 50 And His mercy is on them that fear {reverence = honor, respect felt or shown} Him from generation to generation. 51 He hath showed strength with His arm; He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. 52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. 53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich He hath sent empty away. 54 He hath holpen {laid hold of} His servant Is’ra-el {he will rule as god}, in remembrance of His mercy; 55 As He spake to our fathers, to A’bra-ham {Father of a multiude}, and to His seed for ever. 56 And Ma’ry abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.

John’s Birth: {Luke 1:13, said to Zacharias his name will be John}

Luke 1:57-58… Now E-lis’a-beth's full time came that she should be delivered; and she brought forth a son. 58 And her neighbors and her cousins heard how the Lord had showed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her.

John’s & Circumcision:

Luke 1:59-63… And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child {John}; and they called him Zach-a-ri’as, after the name of his father. 60 And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John {God is gracious}. 61 And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name. 62 And they made signs to his father, how he would have him called. 63 And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all. ( 59 Gen.17:12, circumcised on the eighth day)

Zacharias Prophecy: Fulfilled & Renewed

Luke 1:64-67… And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God. 65 And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Ju-dae’a {celebrated}. 66 And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him. 67 And his father Zach-a-ri’as was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying,

Salvation: Blessed (be, are, is)

Luke 1:68-69… Blessed be the Lord God of Is’ra-el; for He hath visited and redeemed His people, 69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant Da’vid;

Luke 1:70-71… As He spake by the mouth of His Holy prophets, which have been since the world began: 71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;

The Covenant:

Luke 1:72-75… To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember His Holy covenant; 73 The oath which He sware to our father A’bra-ham, 74 That He would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve Him without fear, 75 In holiness and righteousness before Him, all the days of our life.

Luke 1:76-77… And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways; 77 To give knowledge of salvation unto His people by the remission of their sins,

Luke 1:78-80… Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring {the dawn} from on high hath visited us, 79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. 80 And the child {John} grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his showing unto Is’ra-el.

Joseph & Mary in Bethlehem:

Luke 2:4-5… And Jo’seph also went up from Gal’i-lee, out of the city of Naz’a-reth, into Ju-dae’a, unto the city of Da’vid, which is called Beth’le-hem {house of bread}; (because he was of the house and lineage of Da’vid:) 5 To be taxed with Ma’ry his espoused {married} wife, being great with child.  { 5 Matt. 1:20-21, Angle told Joseph to take Mary to wife}

The Holy Child:

Luke 2:6-7… And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Manifestation: Heavenly

Luke 2:8-24… And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of Da’vid a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. 15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Beth’le-hem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. 16 And they came with haste, and found Ma’ry, and Jo’seph, and the babe lying in a manger. 17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. 18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Ma’ry kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. 21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, His name was called JESUS {Jehovah saved}, which was so named of the angel before He was conceived in the womb. 22 And when the days of her purification according to the law of Mo’ses {drawing out} were accomplished, they brought Him to Je-ru’sa-lem {founded peaceful}, to present Him to the Lord; 23 (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) 24 And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.
